🚀 What is Category Analysis?

The Category Analysis page gives you a powerful, at-a-glance understanding of your category performance. Track key KPIs such as Market Share, Weighted Availability, and Share of Voice (SOV) for your selected channel and time period — all in one place.
When you log in, the page automatically loads the category and subcategory with the highest UPD sales, so you can start with what matters most. You can update these filters anytime, and your selections will persist throughout the session.
📅 Date Selector
Use the Date Selector to define the time range for your analysis.
- Default: Last 30 days
- Compare to: Benchmark current performance against a previous period
- Custom Range: Choose any custom date window
💡 Use comparisons to quickly spot growth, dips, and emerging trends.

🛒 Single Channel View

By default, Category Analysis shows performance for a Single Channel
If you want to analyze performance across channels, switch to the Navigator view for a dedicated cross channel analysis
🎯 Category, Subcategory & Brand Filter
This is the primary control panel for refining your view on the Category Analysis page. It defines the exact product universe the dashboard analyzes, making it the best place to start when tailoring insights.
By default, the page auto-selects the Category and Subcategory with the highest UPD sales, so you immediately focus on the most impactful segment. You can modify these selections at any time, and your choices are saved for the duration of the session.

Use this filter to:
- Select the relevant Category
- Narrow down to specific Subcategories
- Focus on one or more Brands
Within the Brand filter, you can choose to view the dashboard for your brands, competitor brands, or a combination of both, enabling quick switches between self-performance and competitive analysis.
💡 Note: If only a competitor brand is selected, the entire dashboard recalculates and displays performance as if that competitor were the primary brand in focus.

✅ Important: All charts, KPIs, and insights on the page update based on your selections.
📈 Advanced Filter
Use Advanced Filters to uncover sharper, segment-level insights within your product universe.
Advanced Filters let you go beyond standard category views by applying tag-based cuts to your analysis. This enables you to evaluate how specific product segments — such as price bands, pack sizes, and more — are performing within the category.

- Click on Advanced Filters
- Select a tag (for example: Price Tier, Pack Size Band, etc.)
- Choose one or more tag values to refine the view
Once applied, the dashboard recalculates to reflect performance only for products that match the selected tags.
💡 Example
If you select Price Tier and choose Premium and Mass, the entire Category Insights dashboard updates to show metrics only for products within those price bands.
🔄 MRP / SP & Value / Volume Toggle
Use this toggle to control how the dashboard calculates performance metrics.

You can switch between MRP (Maximum Retail Price) and SP (Selling Price), and also choose whether metrics are computed by Value or Volume (units).
This gives you the flexibility to analyze performance from both pricing and measurement perspectives.
