Performance Metrics Definitions

Market Share (Value)

Your share of revenue in the category or subcategory.

  • Formula: (Your brand’s revenue ÷ Total category revenue) × 100
  • Why it matters: The headline measure of how strong your brand is in the market.

Market Share (Volume)

Your share of units sold.

  • Formula: (Units you sold ÷ Total category units sold) × 100
  • Why it matters: Shows shopper adoption. Useful for telling apart growth that comes from volume vs. growth that comes from price.

Overall SoV %

Your share of all impressions (organic plus sponsored).

  • Formula: (Your brand’s impressions ÷ Total category impressions) × 100
  • Why it matters: Tells you how visible your brand is. Directly affects awareness and traffic.

Organic SoV %

Your share of organic (unpaid) impressions.

  • Formula: (Your organic impressions ÷ Total organic impressions) × 100

Your share of sponsored (paid) impressions.

  • Formula: (Your sponsored impressions ÷ Total sponsored impressions) × 100
  • Why it matters: Shows how well your ads are competing for visibility.

Branded Search %

The share of searches that include your brand name.

  • Formula: (Branded search volume ÷ Total search volume) × 100
  • Why it matters: A sign of brand strength and shopper intent. Branded searches usually convert better.

Weighted Availability %

How available your SKUs are, weighted by how much they sell.

  • Formula: Σ(% stores available × SKU DRR) ÷ Σ(all SKU DRR)
  • Why it matters: Low availability means lost sales. Top-selling SKUs count for more, so this number is closer to revenue impact than a simple average.

RPI (Overall)

Your price compared to the market average.

  • Formula: (Average price of your SKUs ÷ Average market price) × 100
  • Why it matters: Tells you if you’re priced right. Too high and you lose volume. Too low and you lose margin.

RPI (by PPU)

Your price compared to the market, on a per-unit basis (per gram, per ml, per piece).

  • Formula: (Average PPU price of your SKUs ÷ Average PPU price of the market) × 100
  • Why it matters: The best price measure when SKUs come in many pack sizes, since absolute prices can be misleading.

Weighted Discount %

Your average discount, weighted by revenue.

  • Formula: Σ(Discount % × Revenue share of SKU) ÷ Total revenue
  • Why it matters: Shows how much margin you’re giving up in total. Top-selling SKUs influence this more than slow movers.

Avg. Rating

Your average customer rating, weighted by rating count.

  • Formula: Σ(Rating × Rating count) ÷ Σ(Rating count)
  • Why it matters: A strong driver of conversion, repeat purchase, and brand trust.

Avg. Content Score

Your average listing quality score, weighted by units sold.

  • Formula: Σ(Content score × Units sold) ÷ Σ(Units sold)
  • Why it matters: Better content means better discoverability, higher click-through, and better conversion. It also makes your ad spend more efficient.

Listing Status %

How many stores have your SKUs listed correctly.

  • Formula: (Stores listing your brand ÷ Stores listing the category) × 100
  • Why it matters: Wider listing means more reach and more revenue.

Fill Rate %

How well the channel is fulfilling your purchase orders.

  • Formula: (POs fulfilled ÷ POs raised) × 100
  • Why it matters: Low Fill Rate means stock-outs and risk of delisting. Note: this metric depends on your contract and may not be on for every channel.

Stock in Hand (Days)

How long your current stock will last at the current sales rate.

  • Formula: Stock units ÷ Daily Run Rate (DRR)
  • Why it matters: Low stock means lost sales. Too much stock ties up cash.

Category Contribution %

How much a subcategory contributes to its parent category.

  • Formula: (Subcategory revenue ÷ Total category revenue) × 100
  • Why it matters: Shows you which subcategories are pulling the category forward — useful for deciding where to invest.

  • Formula: (Region revenue ÷ Total category revenue) × 100
  • Why it matters: Shows you which regions are leading and which are lagging — useful for setting regional strategy.

  • Formula: (Tier revenue ÷ Total subcategory revenue) × 100
  • Why it matters: Shows you which price tiers are driving or dragging performance — useful for portfolio decisions.
